Lost City is an archaeological treasure hidden deep in the jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. A sacred destination for the indigenous communities and one of the most breathtaking treks in Latin America. Over four days, you’ll walk ancient trails that have preserved the culture of the Sierra’s native peoples for centuries. 📍 Meeting point: Pickup from Santa Marta’s tourist area. ⏳ Duration: 4 days / 3 nights 💥 Difficulty level: High 🏕️ Day 1: Into the Jungle At 8:00 am, we head into the jungle toward El Mamey, where we enjoy lunch before starting a 9 km trek. The trail winds through mountains, rivers, and lush forests until we reach Adán Camp, where we spend the night. 🌿 Day 2: Indigenous Wisdom After an early breakfast (5:30 am), we hike 8 km with strategic stops to learn about the worldview of the Kogui and Wiwa peoples. We’ll discover their deep connection to the Sierra Nevada and nature. After lunch at Mumake Camp, we cool off in the Buritaca River before continuing 9 km to Paso de Lorenzo or El Paraíso Camp for the night. 🏛️ Day 3: Lost City, the Tayrona Treasure At 5:30 am, we start a 1-hour hike to the mythical Lost City. We explore its terraces, stairways, petrographs, and temples, learning about its history and spiritual significance.
